Freedom Destiny Church is a non-denominational church where you will find people of all ages, ethnicities, and cultures. We hope you’ll join us for one of our worship services so you can experience our friendly and loving atmosphere. Since our worship services are contemporary concert style, you will notice the lights down during worship. After worship you will enjoy practical life changing messages from our Pastors. We encourage you to come as you are and experience God’s love for you and your family. We have a Sunday morning service at 10:30am and a Wednesday evening service at 7:00pm.
FD is not about denominations: We are nondenominational, without the distracting constraints that have become so common within many denominations. The word of God is our guide. It is the map we use to help people find faith in Him and, through that faith, find answers for our lives.
FD is a refuge: It’s a place of contemporary worship and teaching where you can relax and refresh your spirit, away from the busyness that consumes your day and leaves you worn out and burned out. FDC is about helping you find joy, fulfillment, and contentment through Jesus and showing you how He can–and will–help in every aspect of your life.
FD is a body of believers desiring to fully know Jesus: The Bible says that Godliness with contentment is great gain. (1 Timothy 6:6) In today’s busy world, contentment is often hard to find. We strive to help you find just that. At FDC, we are devoted to the Lord through the study of His Word, in our fellowship with one another, in worship, and of course, to prayer.
FD is simple: We seek to keep things simple. Our hope is to always keep things uncomplicated to allow the Spirit work through us.
FD is laid-back, friendly and unpretentious: Our worship style is contemporary and informal. Our messages are “meat of the word” Bible teaching, taught in a straight-forward, often humorous and always simple-to-understand way. We are deeply committed to encouraging one another as sisters and brothers in the Lord. Dress is simple, casual and comfortable and we really mean it when we say, “Come as you are.”
FD is Bible-based. We come together for worship, communion, Bible study, prayer and fellowship: It’s what the Bible instructs us to do. We are very deliberate in focusing our teachings on the Bible. Our decisions, priorities, paths–in fact our very lives–are dependent upon the revelation of a loving God and His plan for us found in His Word. Studying, teaching and living out the Word are priorities at FD. In doing so, we accomplish our reason for being here: worshipping and giving glory to the Lord. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. – Psalm 119:105
FD is grounded in Faith: We have faith in this place to move mountains. I tell you with certainty, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you. (Matt 17:20)
Whether you are a mature Christian looking for the “meat of the word” and hungering for a deeper knowledge, or just intuitively sense there must be something more for you and your family, join us at FDC.
Because you are unique, your spiritual walk is unique also. Even so, you’ll feel right at home from the minute you enter FDC. You won’t find a more caring, faith-filled welcome than you’ll receive here. As you move forward in your faith walk, you’ll experience the encouragement you need while gaining the knowledge you require as you become equipped to fulfill God’s calling in your life.
Opportunities to serve, learn, and connect are as limitless as our creativity and ability to carry them out. You’ll find programs for children, teens, young adults, men, women, and more. Other ministries include outreaches, prison, missions, media, Dream Mentors, classes, and intercession to name a few. Take a look around our website to see where you can connect with us.
History of FD
Freedom Destiny Church was first established in Grayslake, Illinois, on July 16, 2006. The Lord spoke to Pastor’s Adam and Candice Smithyman to give a personal seed of $2000 and to begin church services in a local coffee shop that had broke its lease. We began with a “boom” box and some card tables and chairs and served coffee and donuts. We were a full- fledged street ministry with many people coming for healing and restoration. At that time we called ourselves Christ’s Café Church. We later changed our name to Freedom Destiny Center, and then later decided upon Freedom Destiny Church.
In the Spring of 2007, we entered into a time of prayer and fasting and we received visions and dreams about Jacksonville, Florida, where God spoke to us and told us to go to the West of Route 17 where the “Eagle has Landed.” We researched and found out about Eagle Landing Golf Club in Orange Park. Pastor Adam and Candice moved their family to Jacksonville on March 9, 2008 and they had their first church service out of their home in Eagle Landing on March 16, 2008.
Soon the Pastor’s home got too small, so the church moved to the Eagle Landing Resident’s Club in October 2008 and then moved again to 420 College Dr. on June 1, 2010, where we had service for over six years. On December 11, 2016 we had our first service in our current location at 1241 Blanding Blvd. We have seen our ministries grow into greater worship, children’s, youth, outreach, missions help, conferences, and special events.People come to this CHURCH for salvation, growth, discipleship, healing and restoration.
We are affiliated with Harvest International Network in Pasadena, California, under the headship of Apostle Che' Ahn. For more information go to www.harvestim.org.
